SUBJECT:                     Adopt Resolution Setting Rate of Pay for Election Officers for the April 10, 2018 Northshore Fire Protection District’s Special Election Pursuant to Section 12310 of the Elections Code.

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Registrar of Voters is charged with the duty to appoint persons to serve in various positions in order to conduct the April 10, 2018 Northshore Fire Protection District’s Special Election as well as setting the rate of pay for each person working as a result of the Fire District’s Special Election.  Pursuant to Section 12310 of the California Elections Code, I am submitting a resolution setting the rate of compensation for members of the precinct board and support staff for the upcoming April 10, 2018 Special Election.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative):

As part of the FY 2017-2018 Mid-Year Budget Review, this Dept determined that payment for the members of the precinct board and support staff working as a result of the April 10, 2018 Special Election could be covered through internal budget transfers and it shouldn’t be necessary to request additional funds to cover the cost of the Special Election.  The Northshore Fire Protection District will be required to reimburse the Registrar of Voters office in full for all costs associated with the Fire District’s Special Election.
