MEMORANDUM
TO: Board of Supervisors
FROM: Lars Ewing, Public Services Director
DATE: March 27, 2018
SUBJECT: Approve Amendment No. 1 to Equipment Repair and Service Contract between the County of Lake and Peterson Tractor Company for an Increased Amount of $125,000 and authorize the Chair to sign.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The County is currently under contract with Peterson Tractor Company for mobile equipment service and repair work to the heavy equipment fleet at the Eastlake Landfill. The contract provides for up to $175,000 of service and repair work to be completed each fiscal year, an amount that is typically sufficient for normal, steady-state landfill operations. This fiscal year the landfill experienced an unanticipated increase in equipment use as a result of the Sulphur Fire and Mendocino Complex Fire debris removal operations. Consequently we are experiencing a higher amount of maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment is running safely, effectively, and efficiently.
