SUBJECT: Consideration of staff recommendation to adjourn the April 19, 2018 Cannabis Workshop and Reschedule the May 17, 2018 Cannabis Workshop
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Staff is recommending your Board consider adjourning your April 19, 2018 Cannabis Workshop. As you are aware, the Planning Commission is working on Cannabis Distribution and Manufacturing provisions, but their recommendations will not be ready for your Board until sometime after April 19, 2018. In addition, provided your Board adopts the Cannabis Cultivation Ordinance upon second reading on March 20, 2018, said ordinance will become effective thirty days later. A pause in the workshop calendar will make it possible for staff to gear up and focus on the impacts and workload associated with implementation of the ordinance.
Staff is also recommending your Board consider rescheduling your May 17, 2018 Cannabis Workshop because two Board members will be unavailable that day. In light of this, staff recommends your Board reschedule the May 17, 2018 Cannabis Workshop to Tuesday, May 22, 2018, commencing at 1:30 p.m.
