SUBJECT:                     Adopt Resolution Delegating to the County Public Works Director/ Assistant Purchasing Agent Authority to Negotiate and Acquire Certain Real Estate Transactions under $10,000

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Department of Public Works is in the acquisition phase of the “Safe Routes to School” active transportation project.  This project will provide for the construction of sidewalks, curb and gutter at two locations (First St./ Government St. and Second Street) within the town of Upper Lake and in close proximity to all of the Upper Lake schools facilities.

Attached for the Board’s consideration is a Resolution delegating the County Public Works Director authority to negotiate and acquire certain real estate up to a maximum expenditure of $10,000 per parcel.  The purchase of this certain property is necessary to construct the project. 

This project is 100% funded for Construction with State Funds.

Staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors Adopt a Resolution delegating the County Public Works Director, Assistant Purchasing Agent, authority to negotiate and acquire certain real estate up to $10,000 per parcel; the purchase of a portion of certain parcels (APN 027-193-150, 027-197-140; 027-197-150, 004-058-270, 004-058-380, and 004-058-400) for construction of the Upper Lake ATPL-5914(103) project and authorize the chair to sign the Resolution.
