SUBJECT: Adopt Resolution to Make Applicable to the Upper Lake Unified School District Provisions of the Education Code Permitting the Formation of School Facilities Improvement Districts
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The law applicable to school facilities improvement districts, Education Code sections 15300, et seq., is only operative in a county in which the Board of Supervisors has adopted a resolution making that law applicable in said county by majority vote. Such a resolution may make the law operative in the county generally, or to one or more districts specifically. If approved, the resolution must be filed with the California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission.
Presented to your Board, at the request of the Upper Lake Unified School District, is a resolution making this law applicable to the Upper Lake Unified School District, thereby allowing that district to form a school facilities improvement district.
If this resolution is acceptable to your Board, it may be offered for passage.
