SUBJECT: Approve Order and Agreement of Services with LexisNexis Coplogic Solutions Inc. for an on-line incident reporting program and authorize the Sheriff to sign
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office requests your Boards’ approval of the attached Order and Agreement of services with LexisNexis Coplogic Solutions Inc. LexisNexis Coplogic Solutions Inc. provides an on-line incident reporting program that is internet based. This program would allow the public to file reports electronically, rather than by contacting the Sheriff’s Dispatch center and asking for a deputy sheriff to be dispatched to the reporting parties’ location. Due to short staffing levels currently and regularly experienced in the Sheriff’s Office, citizen’s requests to have reports taken for minor crimes, in which no suspect information is available, cannot be filled in a timely manner.
Additionally, when deputies are assigned to investigate minor crimes with no suspect information they are unavailable or delayed in their response to more serious calls for law enforcement. This program would now provide an avenue for citizens to make an official report without the need to have a deputy sheriff respond to their location.
This agreement has an initial term of 24 months at a rate of $1,085.00 per month, totaling $26,040.00. This software was previously used by the Sheriff’s Office, so there is no cost related to its integration with our Records Management software.
