SUBJECT: Approve Letter of Support for AB 2208, an act to amend Sections 399.15 and 399.30 of the Public Utilities Code, related to energy and authorize the Chair to sign
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This bill directs the Natural Resources Agency to promote markets for new and innovative forest products. These products would use wood waste that is generated by forest maintenance designed to prevent devastating fires such as those experienced in Lake County.
The bill incentivizes public/private partnerships that support forest management and fire mitigation, while at the same time spurring rural economic development of these new forest products.
