SUBJECT: Consideration of Proclamation of a Local Health Emergency by the Lake County Health Officer Due to the Pawnee Fire Incident
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This item is being submitted as an “extra” agenda item. The justification for this request to consider an item not on the posted agenda is as follows:
The need to take action arose subsequent to the posting of the current agenda
and there is a need to take immediate action before the next available agenda.
A wildland fire known as the Pawnee Fire began in Lake County on June 23, 2018,
originating in the Spring Valley area of Clearlake Oaks, CA., forcing area-wide
evacuations, destroying multiple structures and as of this writing, burning 8,000+ acres.
Presently, the Pawnee Fire is 0% contained.
As a result of the occurrence of the Pawnee Fire, a local health emergency was
Proclaimed by the Public Health Officer, Dr. Sara Goldgraben on June 25, 2018. Your
Board must now confirm the existence of the local health emergency.

Dr. Sara Goldgraben, as the County Public Health Officer, respectfully requests that your Board confirm the existence of a local health emergency by confirming the attached proclamation.
