SUBJECT: Discussion and Consideration of a County Ordinance Adding Article VII to Chapter 18 of the Lake County Code Establishing a Cannabis Business Tax
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Attached hereto for your Board’s review and consideration is a revised ordinance which would establish a cannabis business tax for cannabis business operations except for cannabis cultivation already addressed in Lake County Ordinance 3047 (Measure “C). Cultivation consequent to a nursery operation, not previously addressed by Measure “C”, is the only type of cultivation which remains in this tax measure.
Certain additions to and/or changes in language are presented in the ordinance in italics for your Board’s easy reference.
If the ordinance as revised meets with your Board’s approval, this would be the first reading, requiring the following action:
1. A motion to waive reading of the ordinance and to have it read in title only; and
2. A motion to advance the ordinance to your meeting on August 7, 2018.
