SUBJECT: Discussion/Consideration of Constituent concerns about their inability to make timely tax payments due to office closure resulting from disaster and the mandatory evacuation of Lakeport
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
I am receiving calls from numerous constituents about their inability to make timely tax payments during this time of disaster, mandatory evacuation and office closure. I want to be sure such persons are not penalized for late payments - either monetarily or in terms of notification to their lenders, if applicable. I am requesting the Treasurer-Tax Collector be present for this discussion and be prepared to take the necessary steps to ensure best outcomes for our constituents.
