SUBJECT: Approve a Grant Agreement with the State of California Department of Boating and Waterways in the Amount of $97,727 for the Purchase of a New Law Enforcement Patrol Boat and Trailer; and Authorize the Sheriff and County Administrative Officer to sign the contract documents.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Sheriff’s Department has been awarded a grant from the Department of Boating and Waterways, in the amount of $97,727 for the purchase of a replacement patrol boat and trailer.
Attached are the contract documents, as required by the State. Upon your Board’s approval, it will be returned to the State for execution. At that time, the Sheriff’s Department will be allowed to issue a sealed bid request to vendors under the terms of the County’s purchasing policy. The specifications are included for your review and are pending State approval.
Please authorize the County Administrative Officer, by name, to sign three sets of contract documents and return all originals along with a minute order, upon completion.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): The State Department of Boating and Waterways has approved funding in the amount of $97,727 for the purchase of a replacement boat and trailer, to be used by the Marine Patrol division of the Sheriff’s Department.
