SUBJECT: (Sitting as the Lake County Sanitation District, Board of Directors) Approve purchase of budgeted Vac-Con Model V311E/1300 Hydro excavating/mainline cleaning vacuum truck for LACOSAN Southeast and authorize Special Districts Administrator acting as the Assistant Purchasing Agent to issue and sign purchase order not to exceed $476,332.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
District staff budgeted for a Vac-Con Model V311E/1300 Hydro excavating/mainline cleaning vacuum truck. Staff currently uses similar vacuum equipment to perform similar tasks, a 1987 Ford/Camel Vac/Jetter; however, it is undersized to effectively clean our larger lift stations and it is at the end of its useful service life. The new equipment will meet the current needs of staff to effectively clean the larger lift stations, sewer lines and manholes and also maintain the sewage collection systems.
The purchase is being made through the National Joint Powers Agreement contract which requires no additional bids and meets the requirements of the County’s competitive bid policy.
