SUBJECT: Public Hearing to Consider Accepting the Community Development Block Grant funded Homelessness Study
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On April 3, 2012, your Board approved an application for CDBG funding, which included the preparation of two Planning and Technical Assistance studies. On December 21, 2012, the grant was approved as CDBG Grant #12-CDBG-8395, and on June 27, 2016, Amendment One was approved by CDBG to include a Planning and Technical Assistance (PTA) Homelessness Study. Symmetric Solutions was engaged to complete a comprehensive homeless study for the County of Lake.
The Homelessness Study meets the CDBG national objective and eligible activity program requirements because it provides information to assist in homeless prevention and rehousing planning. In addition, implementation of a homeless prevention plan would benefit low/mod income persons.
In order to close out the contract with the consultant, a public hearing must be held. The purpose of this hearing is to review the performance of the grant activity and to solicit citizen input regarding the outcome and accomplishments of the funding received under this contract.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
We recommend acceptance of the Homelessness Study by Resolution for submittal to the State Housing Community Development Department.
