MEMORANDUM

TO:                                          BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

FROM:                     Todd Metcalf, Behavioral Health Administrator

DATE:                     September 25, 2018

SUBJECT:  Authorize the Closure of all Behavioral Health Facilities for a Departmental Fire/Disaster Debriefing on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from the Hours of 8:00am - 12:00pm

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: I would like to respectfully request Board approval to close all five Behavioral Health Services facilities to the public (excluding crisis staff that will remain on call and available) on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from the hours of 8:00am - noon.

Due to the number of staff required to serve the public at all locations it will not be possible to have this meeting with the majority of staff and remain open to the public.

This four-hour session will be devoted to a Departmental fire/disaster debriefing and the development and finalization of Department protocols and procedures for future disaster events.  Since disaster impacts off Department staff, I thought it best to involve as many staff members as possible in the creation of disaster protocols that span all facets of the Department.

I am confident that approval of this time will allow Behavioral Health Services staff to be better informed and prepared to serve our community in the event of disaster.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
