SUBJECT: Consideration of Letter of Support for the County of Lake to receive the Land Use Planning Assistance to Reduce Community Wildfire Grant
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Community Development Department is applying for a Land Use Planning Assistance to Reduce Community Wildfire Grant. This grant would provide:
• The professional assistance of a team of trained wildfire planners to do a complete review of the County’s planning documents
• Education and training for County planners
• Development of a detailed recommendation plan
• And, potentially, one-on-one assistance and implementation support
all with the goal to better plan the wildland-urban interface.
The Community Development Department is requesting that your Board approve a letter of support for this grant.
