SUBJECT:                     (a) Waive the formal bidding process, pursuant to Lake County Code Section 38.2, for the purchase of a 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon; and (b) Approve the cancellation of purchase order SO0019 in the amount of $44,022.05 to Matt Mazzei and authorize the Sheriff or his designee to issue a purchase order to Hoblit in the amount of $45,241.48

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:   On March 13, 2018, Your Board approved the purchase of a 2018 Dodge 2500 Power Wagon from Matt Mazzei Chevrolet. The Sheriff’s Department has been notified that this vehicle is not available. A subsequent bid was issued and a 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon was located at Hoblit Chrysler/Jeep/Ram/Dodge in Woodland.    Matt Mazzei and Thurston were also sent a bid request and both dealers advise they are unable to order a 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon.  

 

Therefore, the Sheriff’s Department requests your Board’s approval to cancel purchase order SO0019 in the amount of $44,022.05 to Matt Mazzei and issue a new purchase order to Hoblit in the amount of $45,241.48.
