SUBJECT: Approve Contract Between the County of Lake and North Coast Opportunities, Inc. for the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program for Children in Foster Care in the Amount of $121,522.00, from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 and authorize the Chair to Sign
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Bridge Program, through North Coast Opportunities INC., allows resource families to have access to child care services while a foster child is placed in their care. This program helps to eliminate one of the largest barriers to retaining families, which is limited access to childcare for foster parents. In addition to the emergency child care vouchers, funds will go towards providing a child care navigator to facilitate and assist with placement and also allow access to trauma-informed care training for providers. This is a renewal of a contract recently approved by your Board, which expired on June 30th, 2018.
