SUBJECT: Adopt Proclamation Posthumously recognizing Deputy Sheriff Robert Rumfelt for his Dedication, Service, and his Ultimate Sacrifice; and Authorize the Chair to Sign and Present the Proclamation at the October 11, 2018 Ceremony being held in Lakeport, CA
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Senator McGuire, in partnership with Congressman Thompson, Assemblymember Aguiar-Curry, Sheriff Martin and CalTrans are hosting a remembrance and unveiling ceremony in memory of Lake County Deputy Sheriff Robert Rumfelt. This event will be held on Thursday October 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Lakeport, CA to rename a portion of Highway 29 as the Deputy Sheriff Robert Rumfelt Memorial Highway. Two new signs will be unveiled recognizing Deputy Rumfelt’s service and sacrifice to our country and the people of Lake County.
I am asking the Board to adopt the Resolution recognizing Deputy Sheriff Robert Rumfelt and authorize the Chair to sign and present it at the ceremony on October 11, 2018.
