SUBJECT: Approval of Agreement between the County of Lake and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for Sharing Cost of Joint State Highway / County Maintained Roads Electrical Facilities.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On May 23, 1995, the County entered into an agreement with Caltrans for sharing costs of state highway electrical facilities at the intersection of state highways and county maintained roads. The agreement was amended in 2011 to include additional facilities that were installed since the agreement was approved in 1995. Caltrans is now asking the County of Lake to execute a new agreement for sharing costs of state highway electrical facilities to include the solar street lights associated with the Eastlake Elementary Safe Routes to School & Community Development Block Grant sidewalk and street light project in Clearlake Oaks, CA.
Attached for the Board’s approval and signature is the new Agreement for Sharing Cost of State Highway Electrical Facilities with County of Lake. This agreement updates the previous agreement that was last amended in 2011, and includes the Eastlake Elementary Safe Routes to School & CDBG solar street lights as well as electrical facilities that were constructed subsequent to the 2011 amendment.
Staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the attached Agreement and Authorize the Chair to Sign.
