SUBJECT: Consideration of Amendment to Resolution 2018-137 Approving Additional Victim-Witness Assistance Program Grant Funding
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Victim-Witness Division of the District Attorney’s Office has been mainly supported by the Victim Witness Assistance grant for the past 32 years from federal and state funds offered by the California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES). For the 2018-19 grant year, CalOES allocated $5,800,000 ($100,000 to each county) to support a Victim-Witness based Mass Victimization Advocate who will be able to respond to mass victimizations/terrorism incidents.

The additional grant funds will completely offset the additional appropriations. Upon award of the additional grant funds, these adjustments will be requested at Mid-Year.

Upon award of the additional grant funds, a limited term position will be created.
