SUBJECT: (a) Waive the formal bidding process, pursuant to Lake County Code Section 2-38.4, Cooperative Purchases. (b) Approve purchase of 2019 Ford F-350 truck with utility body upgrade and authorize the Special Districts Administrator acting as the Deputy Purchasing Agent to issue and sign a P.O. not to exceed $84,000 with Downtown Ford Sales of Sacramento.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Department proposes using the State contract (#1-18-23-20B) which has utilized a competitive bid process to establish vehicle prices for the purchase of a 2019 Ford F-350 to replace SD26. SD26 is a 2006 Ford F-350 Super Duty with over 192,000 miles on it which has exceeded its useful life.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): The District coordinated with Central Garage to utilize the State Contract for vehicle purchases. This State Contract is let based on a competitive process Statewide and provides opportunity for local governments to recognize the same savings that are afforded to the State due to the volume purchasing of the State. The District recognized that SD26 was approaching the end of its service life and budgeted $90,000 in the FY19 budget for its replacement.
