SUBJECT:                     Adopt Resolution Amending Resolution No. 2018-73, Establishing Position Allocations for Fiscal Year 2018-2019, Budget Unit No. 1121, Auditor-Controller/County Clerk

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

 

After consultation with County Administrator, Carol Huchingson I am submitting a position allocation change request for your review.

As you know, my office has experienced a high vacancy rate this past year and I have recently had two team members leave for significantly higher compensation, for similar work assignments.  To address this trend, to prepare for potential upcoming vacancies, for succession planning, and more importantly to address system and technology enhancement projects that must be addressed to take us into the future, I am requesting an adjustment to my current position allocations.

I believe this is just a step to address the current environment and I expect that an expansion and contraction in positions will be necessary as we move forward. It is my goal to provide the fiscal support needed as we make our way through very trying financial times.  As always, I will stay within my designated net County cost.

I respectfully request your approval of the Resolution.
