SUBJECT: (a) Approve the bid award to McAtee’s Marine in the amount of $28,936.89 and (b) authorize the Sheriff/Coroner or his designee to issue a purchase order in this amount
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
In August 2018, the Marine Patrol’s 2011 Alumaweld patrol vessel suffered a catastrophic failure of its engine. In determining whether to rebuild or replace this engine, it was determined by the State’s Inspector, the engine needed to be replaced.
Attached is a copy of the bid specifications along with three bids that were received. The Sheriff’s Department requests approval from Your Board to approve the bid award to McAtee’s Marine in the amount of $28,936.89 under Section 2-40.3(b) of the Purchasing Ordinance citing Local Vendor Preference.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): Funding is available in the Sheriff/Marine Patrol budget unit 2205, object code 17.00. These funds are provided by the State Department of Boating and Waterways and there is no cost to the County general fund.
