EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Community Development Department is responsible for inspection and enforcement of both the Lake County Storm Water Management Ordinance and the Lake County Grading Ordinance and over the last several years, a backlog of inspections built up due to staff shortages. In June of 2018 the Department was able to hire retired Resource Planner, Ron Yoder, to fill the position as an extra-help employee. Ron had previously worked for the Department from 2003 to 2011 as a Code Enforcement Officer and Resource Planner and during that time, provided inspection and compliance monitoring for the Department's grading and stormwater enforcement responsibilities. During this time he became certified for both Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspection and Stormwater Pollution Prevention (SWPPP). During his retirement, both certifications expired.

While his application for extra help was being processed, the Department asked Ron if he could re-instate his certifications and he did so at his own cost ($551).
