SUBJECT: (a) Waive the competitive bidding process, pursuant to Lake County Code Section 2-38.2, based on the determination that competitive bidding would produce no economic benefit to the County; and (b) Authorize the Public Services Director / Assistant Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order not to exceed $52,792.00 to Truck Site for a 2009 GMC C5500 Bucket Truck
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The adopted FY 18-19 budget for the Facilities Maintenance Division of the Public Services Department includes an appropriation for the purchase of a used bucket truck to replace the 1987 model-year bucket truck currently in the fleet. The bucket truck is used as a lift to service all county facility parking lot lights and for various facilities maintenance tasks such as clearing out roof gutters, tree pruning, painting, and other similar elevated tasks. Staff recently located a 2009 GMC C5500 equipped with an Altec articulating boom for a price of $52,791.88. After the FY 18-19 mid-year budget is adopted there will be sufficient appropriations for the purchase.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): Budget Unit 1671 included $50,000 in the FY 18-19 budget for the purchase of a bucket truck. Staff included a request in the FY 18-19 mid-year budget process to increase the appropriation to $52,792 to allow for this purchase.
