SUBJECT: Approve Amendment 1 to the Agreement between the County of Lake and Mountain Valley Child and Family Services for Specialty Mental Health Services for Fiscal Year 2018-19 in the amount of $75,000 and authorize the Board Chair to sign the Amendment.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Attached, for your approval is Amendment 1 to the Agreement between the County of Lake and Mountain Valley for Specialty Mental Health Services for Fiscal Year 2018-19. Under this Agreement, Lake County Behavioral Health Services (LCBHS) is obligated to pay for Specialty Mental Health Services provided at Mountain Valley.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: Mountain Valley is located in Nevada City and up until just recently was a RCL 14 facility; however, in order to comply with new state regulations, Mountain Valley updated its program milieu and is now certified as a Short Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP).
As Child Welfare Services or Probation is ultimately responsible for initiating the placement of Lake County children and youth, LCBHS is ultimately responsible for reimbursement of any Specialty Mental Health Services these children and youth receive.
As an additional Lake County Medi-Cal beneficiary has been placed at Mountain Valley, LCBHS is requesting an increase of $50,000 in the total maximum payable under the Agreement for a new contract maximum of $75,000.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): As an additional Lake County Medi-Cal beneficiary has been placed at Mountain Valley, LCBHS is requesting approval of the Amendment to the Agreement for an increase of $50,000 in the total maximum payable under the Agreement for a new contract maximum of $75,000. The funds for this increase will be re-allocated from unassigned budgeted funds with the same level of care.
