SUBJECT: Approve First Amendment to the Service Agreement between County of Lake and Redwood Toxicology Lab, INC. in the amount of $25,000, from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020, and Authorize the Chair to sign.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Redwood Toxicology Lab, INC. is currently contracted by Social Services to provide drug and alcohol
testing for clients of Child Welfare Services. Testing is court ordered and used to ensure child safety
and participant compliance with required programs. This amendment is needed to pay outstanding
invoices for the months of May and June of Fiscal Year 2017-2018. Due to the unpredictable nature
of the contract, the amount of testing was higher than anticipated and contract went over budget.
However, it is essential to pay off this balance. This amendment would increase the original budget
by $5,000, from $20,000 to $25,000 per Fiscal Year.
