SUBJECT: Consideration of Letter to Governor Newsom to express appreciation for his support of AB 72
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As part of their unrelenting advocacy for the recovery and vibrancy of Lake County, Senator McGuire and Assemblymember Aguiar-Curry announced on February 12, 2019, that the Senate voted in favor of AB 72 which would provide needed property tax backfill to Lake County, for all of our wildfire losses over the past three fire seasons. Governor Newsom has twelve days to sign. In anticipation of the Governor signing, staff has prepared the attached letter for the consideration of your Board, thanking him for his incredible support of Lake County.
