SUBJECT: Approve Letter of Support for AB 632, sponsored by Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry and Authorize the Board to Sign.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
In response to a request from your Board in late 2018, Assemblymember Aguiar-Curry has graciously dedicated staff resources to draft and sponsor AB 632 which, if approved will add Lake County to the group of California counties having the option to consolidate the financial offices of the Treasurer-Tax Collector and the Auditor-Controller.
California Government Code Sec. 24304.2 enables the Boards of Supervisors in the counties of Mendocino, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, Trinity and Tulare, by ordinance, to consolidate the offices of the A-C and T-TC into one elected office of Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector. AB 632, if passed, will make this possible for Lake County.
Attached for the consideration of your Board is a letter of support for AB 632. The letter also expresses gratitude, on behalf of Lake County, to the Assemblymember for her leadership and support.

Approve Letter to Assemblymember Aguiar-Curry, to be signed by all five Board members, to convey unanimous support for AB 632 and to express appreciation to the Assemblymember for her leadership and her dedication of staff resources.
