SUBJECT: Approve Long Distance Travel for Dean Eichelmann, and Christine Hannigan to St. Louis, MO from March 24, 2019 through March 30, 2019 to attend the Preparedness Summit, hosted by National Association of County and City Health Officials.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Dean Eichelmann, Program Coordinator for the Health Services Department, Emergency Preparedness Programs including; Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP), Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP), Pandemic Flu (ST-Pan) and Medical Reserve Core (MRC), and Christine Hannigan, Health Program Support Specialist have been invited to attend the 2019 Preparedness Summit.

This year, National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) will be hosting the 2019 Preparedness Summit from March 25 - 29, 2019 at America's Center Convention Complex in St. Louis, MO. The Preparedness Summit is a unique learning and networking opportunity for emergency preparedness officials and their partners to share perspectives and engage in dialogue on key public health preparedness issues. In an ever-changing threat environment, preparedness professionals must have the knowledge, resources, and relationships necessary to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies.

By participating in the 2019 Preparedness Summit, Dean and Christine will have an opportunity to:

* Interact with leaders in the industry and expand their professional network and raise our agency's profile in the public health preparedness space;

* Share our agency's best practices and expertise with colleagues from the healthcare and emergency management and public health preparedness fields to contribute to the advancement of our nation's health security;

* Build partnerships with these life-saving industries to strengthen our agency's capacity in the face of emerging threats;
