SUBJECT: Approve the Contract for the Relocation of Sewer Facilities in Middletown project, in the amount of $341,449 to Terracon Constructors, Inc. of Healdsburg and Authorize the Chair to execute the Agreement
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Relocation of Sewer Facilities in Middletown project is necessary to eliminate utility conflicts with a Caltrans Safety project on Highway 175 west of Middletown. Bids were publically opened on January 10, 2019. Five bids were received and the apparent lowest, responsible bidder is TerraCon Constructors, Inc. of Healdsburg, CA.
The Board took action at the February 26, 2019 meeting to authorize the Notice of Award which was then sent to the contractor. The contractor has returned the acknowledged NOA as well as the executed contract, insurance and bond documents.
The project will be funded utilizing capital reserves which are sufficient to cover the project cost.
Staff recommends that the Board award the Contract for the Relocation of Sewer Facilities in Middletown project to TerraCon Constructors, Inc. in the amount of $341,449 and authorize the Chair to execute the Agreement.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): This was an unbudgeted project since the need for it arose after the budget cycle for the current FY. Capital reserves have been canceled and allocated to this project to cover the cost.
