SUBJECT: Approve Amendment One of the Lease between the State of California and the County of Lake for vault space at the Seigler Mountain Communications site and authorize the Chair to sign
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: On August 1, 2000, the County of Lake entered into a lease agreement with the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF). This agreement allowed the County to lease vault space in the new State vault allowing Sheriff’s Department to move the communications equipment for Law, Fire, Medical and Local Government to the Seigler Mountain State vault.
During review of our lease agreements, and in an effort to reduce costs, Undersheriff Macedo entered into negotiations with the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (now referred to as Cal Fire) to consolidate the County’s communication equipment onto a single rack, thus reducing the annual fees.
The Seigler Mountain communications site is the County’s main communication site for two-way radio communications for all public services. However, the County has other communication sites owned and operated by the County of Lake that perform the same or similar functions.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): The consolidation of rack space and the renegotiation of this lease has resulted in a reduction of the annual lease. Funds are budgeted in the Sheriff/Dispatch budget 2202.
