SUBJECT: Approve Carl Moyer Program Bus Replacement with Middletown Unified School District for 2 School Buses, and Authorization for the APCO to sign the agreements
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The District received $200,000 in Year 17 and $200,000 in Year 18 Carl Moyer Program Funding. Most of Year 17 and Year 16 funds were utilized for 2 school buses at Kelseyville Unified school District. The remaining Year 17 funds and Year 18 funds are propose to fund one school bus (Bus 10) for Middletown Unified School District. A second bus (Bus 11) has been approved for funding at the Middletown Unified School District, pending receipt of Year 19 Carl Moyer Funds from the State of California. These funds have been significantly delayed in arriving due to the State's transition to a new accounting/computer system, so this project will be submitted once the funds are received. The Year 17 funds have to be fully expended by June 30, 2019 or they have to be returned to the State, signing of the bus funding agreement provides up to 1 year for the bus to be delivered. With the acceptance of Year 17 funds, we committed to bringing the final projects to be funded to the Board for concurrence and authorization to sign the agreements. I am requesting concurrence on the Bus 10 project which meets all program requirements. The Bus 10 project will move forward as quickly as possible to ensure the use of the remaining Year 17 funds within the program timelines. The agreement for Bus 10 is attached.
