SUBJECT: Consideration of Contract between the County of Lake and Chabot-Las Positas Community College District for Title IV-E Training in the amount of $1,000,000 from July 2019-June 2020 and authorize the Chair to sign
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Chabot-Las Positas Community College District will provide matching funds for federally eligible Title IV-E training programs in Lake County. Funding also reimburses meals and lodging expenses for staff attending eligible training outside Lake County. Vendors for requested Title IV-E training will be located and services coordinated by the Contractor. Training will be available to eligible resource families, more commonly referred to as foster parents, Social Services' Child Welfare Services (CWS) staff and Community Partner staff that work with Lake County families and children. Training is required to comply with the Welfare Institutions Code (WIC) sections 16519.5 - 16519.7, which detail the responsibility of Child Welfare Services to ensure that the increased expectations and knowledge required of resource families, staff, and community partners are satisfactory under the Resource Family Approval Program. Additional CWS staff training is mandated by WIC sections 16205-16208. This contract renews services with the Contractor for fiscal year 2019-2020.
