SUBJECT: Adopt Resolution Regarding Acceptance of Donations by the Lake County Library in the County’s Best Interest
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As your Board is aware, our County Library branches routinely receive book and other material donations. Many of these are left anonymously, and/or after public hours. Some items are unique, and the value cannot be readily determined. Almost all material donations have a depreciated value far less than $1,000.
Your Board is also very probably aware the Library has longstanding published guidelines for material donations that have well served our community.
Pursuant to Section 10, subsection 40 of the County Policy and Procedures manual, the attached Resolution enables ready acceptance of donations for which the anticipated value is less than $1,000, and offers process guidance.
Staff recommends your Board adopt the Resolution.
