SUBJECT:                     Consideration of the Award of Bid for the Three SB1 Rehabilitation Improvement Projects; Bid No. 19-10 to Granite Construction in the Amount of $566,052.25 and Authorize the Chair to execute the Notice of Award and the Agreement

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Department publicly opened bids for the subject project on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.  Four (4) bids were received and the lowest responsible bidder was Granite Construction, of Ukiah, CA. Please refer to the attached bid tabulation.

The project is fully funded from the State’s SB1 funds.

The scope of the project is to rehabilitate the existing pavement surface at three separate locations by cold planning the existing surface, followed by dig-outs to remove failed areas, and a hot mix asphalt overlay. Work will include utility adjustments, shoulder backing and traffic stripes and markings.

Staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors award the Contract for the Three SB1 Rehabilitation Improvement Projects to Granite Construction in the amount of $566,052.25 and authorize the Chair to execute the Agreement and execute the attached Notice of Award.
