SUBJECT: Approve Agreement between the County of Lake and SHN Engineers & Geologists, Inc. for Material Testing Services for the Three SB1 Rehabilitation Projects, in Lake County, CA in the Amount Not to Exceed $29,741.20 and Authorize the Chair to Execute the Agreement.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

On May 30, 2019, the Department of Public Works issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Material Testing Services for the Clark Drive Pavement Repair Project.

Proposals were received from SHN Engineers & Geologists, Inc. (SHN) as a result of the solicitation. A Consultant Selection Board (CSB) was formed to review the proposals in accordance with Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM), Chapter 10, and the County of Lake policy for review and selection of professional consultants. Since there was only one proposal, and the firm is clearly qualified to provide the services requested, a CSB was not needed. SHN has agreed that the fee for their services will not exceed $29,741.20.

The project is fully funded from the State's SB1 funds.

Staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve the Agreement for Material Testing Services for the Three SB1 Rehabilitation Projects with SHN Engineers & Geologists, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $29,741.20 and authorize the Chair to execute said Agreement.
