SUBJECT: Adopt Resolution of the Board of Supervisors Approving Amendment #A-1 to the Standard Agreement #16-5022 Between the County of Lake and California Department of Social Services for Resource Family Approval Program Services and Authorizing the Director of Social Services to Sign the Amendment
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On January 1, 2017, Lake County Department of Social Services (LCDSS) entered into Standard Agreement #16-5022 with California Department of Social Services (CDSS) to provide family evaluations and legal consultations for the Resource Family Approval (RFA) Program. The original agreement was for $0.00, due to the cost of services and allocations being unknown. In November 2018, CDSS issued Amendment A-1 to the Standard Agreement to update the contract amount to $27,600 in order to reflect the actual cost of services provided by CDSS from January 1, 2017 to June 30, 2019. The services provided by CDSS are essential to the functionality and success of the RFA Program. The Program helps to provide more placement opportunities for foster children and reduces the likelihood they are placed in a residential treatment facility. The family evaluations include interviews of applicants to assess their personal history, family dynamic, need for support or resources, and a risk assessment. CDSS provided eleven (11) family evaluations for LCDSS in fiscal year 2018-2019. Legal Consultations are also included in the RFA Standard Agreement, however they are provided to LCDSS for no cost.
