SUBJECT: Approve Request for Advance Step Increase of Mental Health Specialist II, Step 4 for Ms. Elizabeth Marleen-Butler.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As this candidate possesses a Master’s degree in clinical mental health and school counseling and has a wide variety of valuable, relevant and transferable experience in providing specialty therapeutic mental and clinical health services working with both adults and children, I am requesting hiring approval to advance Ms. Marleen-Butler to salary step level 4 at $26.56 per hour. The County Administrative Officer is in agreement with this request.
In addition to Ms. Marleen-Butler’s education and experience above, she is a license-eligible, waivered clinician and will earn hours towards her Marriage & Family Therapist license. Ms. Marleen-Butler’s specialized knowledge and experience are valuable to us and warrant the request for this difficult-to-fill position at step 4.
FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): Adequate funds exist in wages and benefits object codes for this request and is accounted for in the existing budget due to unfilled positions resulting in staff salary savings.
