SUBJECT: Consideration of report on impending PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This item is being submitted as an “extra” agenda item. The justification for this request to consider an item not on the posted agenda is as follows:
• The need to take action came to my attention subsequent to the posting of the current agenda.
• There is a need to take immediate action before the next available agenda.
On October 6, 2019, staff was alerted by PG&E of an impending Public Safety Power Shutoff event expected to impact Lake County starting in the early morning hours of October 9 and continuing until mid-day on October 10. Since being first alerted, all County departments have been preparing for the event, both in terms of continuity of operations and services to the public.
Staff requests an opportunity to report to your Board and update the public on the impending event.
