SUBJECT: Letter of Intent to sell 7175 South Center Drive, Clearlake to Lake Transit Authority
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The county has been pursuing to prepare a property, located at 7175 South Center Drive in the City of Clearlake, for a potential sale to the Lake Transit Authority (LTA). LTA has been working and designing a more appropriate bus depot which offer a better experience and situation than the current hub depot located next to Big 5 and Walmart in Clearlake. Since the timing of the property being prepared and sold to LTA has taken longer than anticipated, I would like to offer that we sign a letter of intent stating that the board intends to surplus and sell the property. Furthermore LTA will have legal right to have a priority bid to purchase the property due to the nature of their agency and their agency status. The reason for the letter of intent is due to a grant opportunity that would allow LTA to acquire funding to begin the construction of the bus depot. If we do not approve a letter of intent, the process to sell the property will not be finished in time and this will delay LTA's ability to attempt to acquire funds until the following grant Notice of Funding Availability next year.

Recommended Action
RECOMMENDED ACTION: (a) Approve letter of intent; and (b) Work with APC/LTA staff to produce a letter of intent.
