SUBJECT:                     Approve Long Distance Travel for Lake County Water Resources Invasive Species Coordinator Angela De Palma-Dow to attend and present at the 39th Annual International Symposium of the North America Lake Management Society in Burlington, VT from November 11-15, 2019.

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) mission is to forge partnerships among citizens, scientists, and professionals to foster the management and protection of lakes and reservoirs for today and tomorrow. Angela will be attending and presenting at the annual NALMS conference as a continued education opportunity and to fulfill the requirements needed to obtain a Certified Lake Manager (CLM) distinction which will provide Lake County Water Resources Department with additional qualifications and expertise to better manage Lake County aquatic resources. While attending the conference Angela is planning on attending two workshops; 1) Internal Phosphorus Loading and Cyanobacteria and, 2) Storm water Management for Lake Managers. Both of these workshops cover relevant issues currently impacting Clear Lake and provide valuable training for several programs being managed by Water Resources.
