Subject:                     Approve Letter of Support to Senator Jim Nielsen for a $15 million one-time allocation in the 2020-21 California State Budget to fund a North State Public Safety Training Center in Yuba City, and authorize the Chair to sign.

California State Senator Jim Nielsen of the 4th Senate District is seeking Letters of Support for a $15 million one-time allocation in the 2020-21 California State Budget to fund a North State Public Safety Training Center in Sutter County’s Yuba City.  If approved, this allocation would facilitate a secure, multi-platform training center for first responders and others who must meet state-mandated standards to perform public safety and disaster response operations.

 

Sheriff Brian Martin affirmed his support for development of this facility in 2019.
