Subject: (a) Consideration of Agreement for Professional Services between Health Services Department and Dr. Charlie Evans; and (b) Consideration to Appoint Dr. Charlie Evans to act as Designated Alternate Health Officer
Executive Summary:
Health Services Department requests your review of the attached Agreement and to appoint Dr. Charlie Evans as the Designated Alternate Health Officer.
Do to the current coronavirus emergency Dr. Pace has been working 12-hour days 7 days a week. This Agreement would allow Dr. Pace to receive assistance when needed and take a day off if necessary. Dr. Pace has worked with Dr. Evans over the last several years and recommends him as Designated Alternate Health Officer.
The Agreement presented for your review states that Dr. Evans may only act as Alternate Health Officer when mutually agreed upon in writing by Dr. Pace, or myself.
Dr. Evans has served as the Communicable Disease Health Officer at the Mendocino County Health Department for 18 years. Dr. Evans also works as an Emergency Medicine Specialist in Ukiah. He graduated with honors from University Of California, San Francisco School of Medicine in 1982. Having more than 38 years of diverse experiences, especially in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, and Public Health, specializing in TB control. Dr. Evans affiliates with several hospitals including Petaluma Valley Hospital, Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, Healdsburg District Hospital, and cooperates with many other doctors and specialists. Dr. Evans advanced knowledge and collaborative contacts will be an asset to the Health Services Department.
