Subject: EXTRA ITEM: (a) Consideration of "extra" agenda item, and, (b) Consideration of Letter to Governor Newsom requesting Lake County be given Public Health Benchmarks and the ability to choose how we navigate the reactivation our local economy while still ensuring the protection of our citizens during the COVID-19 crisis
Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):
(a) This item is being submitted as an "extra" agenda item. The justification for this request to consider an item not on the posted agenda is as follows:
This item came to my attention subsequent to the posting of the current agenda and there is a need to take action before the next agenda.
(b) As our Board is aware, later this week, Governor Newsom will announce further plans for his phased approach for lifting of shelter. I request our Board consider sending a letter to Governor Newsom, before he makes further announcements, requesting Lake County (and all counties) be given Public Health Benchmarks and the ability to choose how we navigate the reactivation our local economy while still ensuring the protection of our citizens during the COVID-19 crisis.
