Date:                                          July 14, 2020

To:                                          The Honorable Moke Simon, Chair, Lake County Board of Supervisors

From:                                          Scott De Leon, Public Works Director

Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):

The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (SB1) provides additional funding for basic road maintenance and rehabilitation.  One-half of the funding generated from SB1 is allocated to cities and counties with the remaining 50% being retained by the State.  For FY 20/21 Lake County is expected to receive approximately $2,460,000, which has been appropriated in the FY 2020’/2021 adopted budget.

Although the adopted budget reflects this revenue estimate, actual receipt of this funding is subject to the State’s approval of a proposed project list that has been formally established pursuant to a Board adopted Resolution.  The Resolution establishes the required project list.
