Subject: Approve long distance travel for Sgt. Ben Moore and Detective Nate Newton to attend Watchguard training in Allen, TX for the period September 13-September 18, 2020 at a cost not to exceed $5,000.

Executive Summary: The Lake County Sheriff's Department is requesting approval for Out of State travel to send Sgt. Ben Moore and Detective Nate Newton to Allen, TX to attend Watchguard training. Training dates are for the period September 14-September 17, 2020 with September 13 and September 18 being travel days.

Costs are estimated as follows: Costs not to exceed $5,000
Airfare: $2,300 (prices will vary depending on booking)
Lodging: $1,500
Rental car $450
Per Diem: $350 (lunch provided during class)
Airport parking: $120

The Watchguard training is designed to provide training for Users, Hardware/Software/Advanced Administration, Trouble shooting, Vehicle Installation Certification, Teardown and Repair. This training provides knowledge about our camera devices/systems and will assist us to get a better knowledge on how to troubleshoot and repair our system.

Training will be funded through our Rural Sheriff's fund 2206.
