Subject: Adopt Resolution Approving an Agreement with California Department of Food and Agricultural Industrial Hemp Cultivation Agreement No. 20-0328-000-SA for July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022 in the Amount of $38,330.00

Executive Summary:

I would like to ask the Board to adopt the attached resolution approving an Industrial Hemp resolution agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture. It reimburses the County for registering hemp growers and seed breeders, enforcing all laws and regulations, public outreach, training staff, reimbursement for mileage and supplies pertaining to industrial hemp. There are currently 15 hemp registrants in the County of Lake. The agreement would reimburse the County up to $38,300.00 for the activities listed above. This agreement goes from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022.

Should the Board adopt the Resolution, please have the chair sign and return one copy of the Agreement, one copy of the Board Resolution and return them to the Agricultural Commissioner's office processing. A signed complete copy will be returned for your records.
