Subject:                     (a) Consideration of Purchase of one (1) 2020 Chevy Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle from Matt Mazzei Chevrolet in the amount of $42,980.56 from the Sheriff/Pursuit Replacement Budget Unit 2217, Object Code 62.72 and (b) Waiving the County Purchasing Ordinance section 41.3(b) allowing the 10% local vendor preference, and (c) authorize the Sheriff to issue a purchase order.

 

Executive Summary:   The Sheriff’s Office is requesting your Boards’ approval to purchase a 2020 Chevy Tahoe Police Pursuit vehicle.  This vehicle will be an unmarked commander unit and will be used in the special assignments.

A request for sealed bids for a Chevy Tahoe PPV was issued on July 14, 2020 and mailed to the following dealers:

Matt Mazzei, Corning Chevrolet, Maita Chevrolet, Thurston Chevrolet and McConnell Auto Plaza.   It was also posted on both the County and Sheriff’s websites.

 

Received bids are as follows:

Matt Mazzei - $42,980.56

Silveira Chevrolet - $43,099.49

Courtesy Chevrolet - $41,685.59

Winner Chevrolet - $41,782.63

 

The Sheriff’s Office is requesting approval to purchase one Chevy Tahoe Police Pursuit vehicle.   Although Courtesy Chevrolet is the lowest bidder, with the 10% local vendor preference, Matt Mazzei would be awarded the bid.
