Subject: Consideration of Resolution Appointing Directors of Certain Special District Boards In Lieu of Holding A General District Election On November 3, 2020
Elections Code Section 10515 requires the Registrar of Voters to submit a certificate of facts to the Board of Supervisors when the number of persons who have filed a Declaration of Candidacy for director does not exceed the number of offices of director to be filled at a general district election. To comply with Section 10515, I am submitting the resolution titled “Resolution Appointing Directors of Certain Special District Boards In Lieu of Holding a General District Election on November 3, 2020” to your Board with the names of persons who filed a Declaration of Candidacy for each of the Special Districts that are not required to hold an election because there are no more nominees than there are vacancies.

Any costs incurred by the Registrar of Voters office as a result of the appointments are fully reimbursable by each individual special district and there is no cost to the Registrar of Voters office.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
It is recommended that your Board approve the attached resolution titled “Resolution Appointing Directors of Certain Special District Boards In Lieu of Holding a General District Election on November 3, 2020” at this meeting.
